Frequently Asked Questions
Here you can find the answers to some of our frequently asked questions.
-
What is Fearless Girls Club?Fearless Girls Club is an ambitious Social Enterprise with a bold vision: Every girl in the UK grows up fearless – standing strong, speaking up and knowing her worth. We run after-school clubs and offer subscription boxes for girls aged 8 to 12, designed to empower through fun, engaging activities that develop resilience, leadership and self-expression. We believe there is a new way to be unapologetically female in the modern world which sheds these restricting traditional expectations and embraces being bold, assertive and self-assured in a compassionate and open-minded way. And it starts with the art of being fearless.
-
Are you a charity? No, we are not a charity, we are a Community Interest Company which is a nonprofit organisation motivated by a social mission. As such, there are strict rules about what we can and can’t spend money on. We are legally allowed to accept donations but we can’t claim Gift Aid and all income is subject to corporation tax (including grants and donations).
-
My daughter is very anxious and has additional needs. Will Fearless Girls Club be a good fit for her?Absolutely! Fearless Girls Club is designed to be an inclusive, welcoming and supportive environment for all girls, including those who are shy, anxious or have additional needs. Our activities are tailored to encourage participation at each girl’s comfort level, and we focus on building confidence step by step. We aim to create a safe space where every girl feels valued and supported, no matter her starting point. If your daughter has specific needs or accommodations, please let us know, and we’ll work with you to ensure she has the best possible experience.
-
Who can join Fearless Girls Club? The club is open to girls aged 8 to 12 (Years 4 to 6 in primary school, and the start of Year 7 to help with secondary school transition) as research shows how vulnerable this age group is to poor levels of self-confidence and self-esteem. Read The Need for a comprehensive review of the worrying statistics.
-
What happens if my child misses a session? While we encourage regular attendance to get the most out of the programme, we understand that life happens! If your child misses a session, we’ll make sure they can catch up on anything important.
-
I can’t afford to pay for the club, is there a way my daughter can still attend?Yes! We believe every girl deserves the chance to build confidence and become fearless – affordability should not be a barrier to attending our club. For every 10 fully funded girls in a club, we are able to offer one subsidised place. Please have a look at our Financial Assistance Policy for more information.
-
Will I get updates about my child’s progress?Yes – we send out regular updates on session activities by email and also personalised mini updates so we can share the highlights of your daughter’s journey with us. We want every girl to feel truly seen and heard.
-
Does my child need to bring anything to the sessions? All materials and resources are provided, but please do bring a water bottle with a name label. Most importantly, your child needs to bring a willingness to take part and have fun!
-
What is the staff-to-child ratio? We maintain a small group size to ensure every child receives individual attention and support during the sessions. There is a maximum of 18 children per club, with two adult club leaders and up to three Quest Leaders in support.
-
Will my child receive awards or recognition? Our focus group research revealed that our members don’t want to earn badges or certificates for achievements, but want to mark their membership and progress through the club. We give every new member a sticker journal, which is our unique way for our girls to add an attendance sticker to every week, as well as collect bigger limited edition vinyl stickers every half term.
-
How can I sign my child up?You can book online here!
-
Is the club safe for my child?Absolutely! We prioritise the safety and well-being of all our members, with safeguarding policies in place and risk assessments conducted for all venues and activities.
-
My child is older than 12 years, can they still be involved?Yes! We offer volunteer roles for girls aged 13 to 18 to take on a mentoring and leadership position in our club. We call them Quest Leaders because they help to lead our Club Quests. You can read more on our Volunteering page.
-
Do you offer trial sessions?Yes! We offer a paid trial session where spaces are available.
-
Who runs the sessions? Our sessions are led by trained Club Leaders and supported by assistants and volunteers. All adult leaders are DBS-checked and trained in safeguarding.

A fun and challenging Club Quest. A Reflection Circle to explore what we have learned about ourselves and others from the activity. A Confidence Boost practical tool, introducing a different mindfulness or self-regulation technique each week to equip our girls with strategies to slow down, pay attention to the present moment, and develop better focus and self-awareness. Every few weeks, we hijack our usual programme to run a Guest Stars session, inviting inspiring women and girls with awesome talents, skills or experiences into our club session to showcase what they do and let the girls have a go at trying something new.
