Frequently Asked Questions

Here you can find the answers to some of our frequently asked questions.

  • My daughter is very anxious and has additional needs. Will Fearless Girls Club be a good fit for her?
Absolutely! Fearless Girls Club is designed to be an inclusive, welcoming and supportive environment for all girls, including those who are shy, anxious or have additional needs. Our activities are tailored to encourage participation at each girl’s comfort level, and we focus on building confidence step by step. We aim to create a safe space where every girl feels valued and supported, no matter her starting point. If your daughter has specific needs or accommodations, please let us know, and we’ll work with you to ensure she has the best possible experience.
  • Who can join Fearless Girls Club?
The club is open to girls aged 8 to 11 (Years 4 to 6 in primary school) as research shows how vulnerable this age group is to poor levels of self-confidence and self-esteem. Read The Need for a comprehensive review of the worrying statistics.
  • I can’t afford to pay for the club, is there a way my daughter can still attend?
Yes! We believe every girl deserves the chance to build confidence and become fearless – affordability should not be a barrier to attending our club. For every 10 fully funded girls in a club, we are able to offer one subsidised place. Please have a look at our Financial Assistance Policy for more information.
  • What is Fearless Girls Club?
Fearless Girls Club is a unique club for girls aged 8 to 11, designed to empower them through fun, engaging activities that develop resilience, leadership and self-expression.
  • My child is older than 11 years, can they still be involved?
Yes! We offer volunteer roles for girls aged 12 to 18 to take on a mentoring and leadership position in our club. We call them Quest Leaders because they help to lead our Confidence Quests. You can read more about these roles on our Volunteering page.
  • Where and when do the sessions take place?
We run in school term time only in these locations: ⚡️Wednesdays: 6:00pm to 7:30pm, St Lawrence Church Hall, Chobham ⚡️Thursdays: 5:00pm to 6:30pm, St Michael's Church Hall, Sunninghill We are looking to open new clubs in the area so please keep an eye on our social channels to find out when these might be launching.
  • How much does it cost to join?
Each 1.5 hour session is £10 and is payable half-termly online or by BACS. This covers all materials and activities. We aim to make the club accessible to everyone, so please contact us if you need financial assistance.
  • Are you a charity?
No, we are not a charity, we are a Community Interest Company which is a nonprofit organisation motivated by a social mission. As such, there are strict rules about what we can and can’t spend money on. We are legally allowed to accept donations but we can’t claim Gift Aid and all income is subject to corporation tax (including grants and donations).
  • What happens in a typical club session?
Focusing on one of our Confidence Quest areas each week and supported by older girls volunteering with us as Quest Leaders, each session includes: Our Fearless Girls Club affirmations – I am bold, I am brave, I am fearless! Our Opening Games: one or two carefully selected games that introduce our Confidence Quest topic for the week in a fun way. An exciting themed activity exploring one of our Confidence Quests, which will include some external visitors to help us try new things. A Quest Reflection Circle to explore what we have learned about ourselves and others from the activity. A self-empowerment practice, introducing a different mindfulness or self-regulation technique each week to equip our girls with strategies to slow down, pay attention to the present moment, and develop better focus and self-awareness.
  • What are the Confidence Quests?
The Confidence Quests are our unique curriculum that guides girls through activities and challenges focused on building self-confidence, leadership skills and a strong sense of self. We wrote a blog on what they are and why they matter.
  • What happens if my child misses a session?
While we encourage regular attendance to get the most out of the programme, we understand that life happens! If your child misses a session, we’ll make sure they can catch up on anything important.
  • Will I get updates about my child’s progress?
Yes – we send out regular updates on session activities by email and also personalised mini updates so we can share the highlights of your daughter’s journey with us. We want every girl to feel truly seen and heard.
  • Does my child need to bring anything to the sessions?
All materials and resources are provided, but please do bring a water bottle with a name label. Most importantly, your child needs to bring a willingness to take part and have fun!
  • Is there a uniform or dress code?
There is no uniform as our girls tell us they prefer to have the freedom of self-expression to wear what they like to our clubs – but we recommend comfortable clothing that’s easy to move around in.
  • Will my child receive awards or recognition?
Our focus group research revealed that our members don’t want to earn badges or certificates for achievements, but want to mark their membership and progress through the club. We give every new member a Progress Journal, which is our unique scrapbook-style poster that girls can add an attendance sticker to every week, as well as collect bigger limited edition vinyl stickers every half term.
  • How can I sign my child up?
You can register your child by filling out the online sign-up form on our Join The Club page or by contacting us directly at clubhouse@fearlessgirlsclub.co.uk.
  • Do you offer free trial sessions?
As a small nonprofit organisation, we are working hard to maintain the high quality of our sessions and ensure each girl has access to the best possible resources and support. To make this sustainable for our club and community, we’re unable to offer free taster sessions at this time.
  • Can my child join mid-term?
We try to welcome new members at any time, provided there is space in the group and it won’t be unsettling or disruptive (to new or existing members). We might ask you to wait until the next half term to ensure consistency and continuity in our sessions.
  • What is the staff-to-child ratio?
We maintain a small group size to ensure every child receives individual attention and support during the sessions. There is a maximum of 20 children per club, with two adult club leaders and up to three Quest Leaders in support.
  • Is the club safe for my child?
Absolutely! We prioritise the safety and well-being of all our members, with safeguarding policies in place and risk assessments conducted for all venues and activities.
  • Who runs the sessions?
Our sessions are led by trained Club Leaders and supported by assistants and volunteers. All adult leaders are DBS-checked and trained in safeguarding.
  • Are there any paid roles with Fearless Girls Club?
Yes, we occasionally have vacancies for freelance (self-employed) Club Leaders and Assistant Club Leaders at our established clubs. And we are always on the lookout for Club Leaders to help us set up new clubs in our area. If you’re interested in working with us in any of these roles, please do get in touch at clubhouse@fearlessgirlsclub.co.uk.
  • Can I volunteer with the Fearless Girls Club?
Yes! We’re always looking for enthusiastic volunteers. Check out our Volunteer page for more information.
  • What is a Fearless Girls Club Ambassador?
An Ambassador is someone who promotes the club within their networks and communities. Ambassadors don’t need to commit to regular volunteering but play an important role in spreading the word about our mission. Please email us if you’d like to explore this further at clubhouse@fearlessgirlsclub.co.uk.
